About Me

The History

Born in Italy Rome on 23/06/1974. She approached music from a very young age, studying piano at the Classical Music Association in Ostia Lido (Rome) with Maria Antonietta Fippi. In 2000 she began studying the sax with Piero Quarta and subsequently perfected herself with Michel Audisso and Giancarlo Maurino.
With the “Danielle Di Majo Quartet” and the “Francesco Diodati Quintet”she won numerous International Competitions
(first prize at: Incroci Sonori jazz 2004 in Moncalieri (To), Talenti Jazz Martina 2004, Palazzo Valentini prize 2004, Barga Jazz 2005, Porsche Jazz 2005).

In 2005 she was awarded the prize for Best New Emerging Talent at the Baronissi Jazz Competition.

She has participated in numerous Master Classes held by Maurizio Giammarco, Rosario Giuliani, Bob Mintzer, Enrico Pieranunzi, Enrico Rava, Giovanni Tommaso, Kenny Wheeler, Dick Halligan, Roberto Taufic, Giancarlo Maurino & Emanuele Cisi.
She has collaborated with various Orchestras:
The Saint Louis Big Band directed by Gianni Oddi, the Jazz Studio Big Band directed by Mario Corvini, the Testaccio Art of Jazz directed by Claudio Prado’, the San Lorenzo Jazz Orchestra directed by Marco Omicini, the V.G. Jazz Ensemble conducted by Roberto Spadoni, Orchestra della Sapienza conducted by Silverio Cortesi & the Down Time Big Band conducted by Piero Quarta.
She has performed in numerous festivals and concert halls (Policoro Jazz Festival, Festival Esperanto, Festival Villa Gordiani, Ronciglione Jazz Festival,
Auditorium Parco della Musica, Barga Jazz, Avignon Jazz Festival, Baronissi Jazz, Villa Celimontana “jazz Image”, Badia Jazz Festival, Jazz on the road,
Woma jazz festival, Casa del Jazz (Rm), Garbatella Jazz Festival, Empoli Jazz Festival, Catania Jazz Festival, Sala Nervi in the Vatican, Lucca Jazz Donna).
She has collaborated with numerous artists: Nino De Rose, Zsolt Kovacs, Rita Marcotulli, Nicola Stilo, Giampaolo Ascolese, Andrea Beneventano, Roberto Taufic, George Garzone, Massimo Manzi, Giancarlo Maurino, Karl Potter, John Ramsey, Harvie Swartz, Pino Sallusti, Gianni Di Renzo, Roberto Spadoni, Patrizia Scascitelli, Giovanni Tommaso, Massimo Nunzi, Mario and Claudio Corvini, Fabio Giachino, Gianluca Petrella, Fabio Gorlier, Simone Maggio, Elisabetta Antonini, Antonella Vitale, Marco Colonna, Indaco Project, Paolo Tombolesi, Pietro Ciancaglini, Federica Michisanti, Silvia Manco, Elisabetta Serio and many others.
She studies transverse flute with Maestro Antonio Di Giamberardino and is part of the flute choir “I Flauti di Dragona”.
She has been involved in the direction of the “Danielle Di Majo Quintet” with which she writes original compositions and participates in numerous Italian jazz venues, events and festivals. (Antonello Sorrentino: trumpet; Francesco Diodati: guitar; Riccardo Gola: double bass; Ermanno Baron: drums).
In 2024 she toured the USA with the Bit Duo (with Manuela Pasqui) (Washington DC, Chicago, Madison, Cleveland).
